New Utility Service

Step 1: Complete the Utility Service Application
Download the application form or pick up a copy at City Hall.

Step 2: Submit Required Documents
Bring your completed form and a photo ID.

Step 3: Pay Deposit & Service Fee
Meter deposit: $200.00 • Service fee: $10.00.
CASH, CHECK, OR MONEY ORDER ONLY

Step 4: Service Activation
Utilities are typically activated within 1 business day after deposit and paperwork are received.

Billing and Payment Information

Due Date
Bills are due on the 15th of each month.

Late Fee
A 10% late fee will be applied if payment is not received by the due date.

Service Disconnection
If the bill is unpaid by the 25th, service will be disconnected. Service will only be restored after the unpaid balance and reconnection fee are paid in full.

Payment Methods

Online Payments
Acceptable via credit card or ACH only. Credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee.

In-Person Payments
Check, cash, or money order may be paid during normal business hours.

Night Drop
Payments may also be placed in the night drop located near the front door.

Service Fees
$10 service fee required for all new accounts; also applies for service address changes

$50 – applies to any reconnects due to non-payment

$25 – applies to any returned checks

Tap Fees

Water tap fees

Installation of water connections (taps) and service connections from the main to a point outside the curb area or point of the meter set is performed only by municipal employees or a contractor approved by the city. A charge is made by the City for each new tapping of the water mains for a connection.

The fee for making taps and furnishing and installing meters and boxes id determined from the following schedule.

Sewer Tap Fees

Sewer tap fees are assessed on a case-by-case basis. While the average cost is approximately $1,500, the final fee is determined by the Director of Public Works based on individual site requirements.

Garbage Service Information

Any business or residence within the city limits of New Waverly must go through city hall for garbage and sewer service.  No trash or dumpster service outside of the city’s contractor may operate within the city limits. 

Trash collection is provided by Live Oak Environmental.

⚠️ Please Note: If you contact Live Oak Environmental directly, they may not be able to assist you. It is best to contact the City of New Waverly directly, as we manage all sanitation services through a municipal contract.

  • Please place your cart at the curb by 6:00 AM

  • Dumpsters are emptied on Tuesday/Friday – for 2x a week service.
  • Tuesdays -for 1x a week pick up.
