Founded in the 1870s along the Houston and Great Northern Railroad, New Waverly quickly grew into a hub for farming and timber in the piney woods of Walker County.
Officially incorporated in 1952, the city has held on to its small-town spirit—where neighbors still know each other, waves are shared on country roads, and community runs deep.
Surrounded by the Sam Houston National Forest, New Waverly proudly blends its rich history with the welcoming charm of a place that feels like home.
